As the title states, I've got two printers that each have dual extruders but one hotend/nozzle. I'm curious if these kits could yield me up to 8 colors.
I don't have any recent pictures... but for a while we had our Gigabot with 8 units on it. However, on your idex/dual extruder machine, the installation is identical as a single extruder... just two complete installs just like any other printer. I have a machine around the warehouse with two installed... I'll dig it out this weekend and post some pictures of it. I think it's a Geetech, if I remember correctly.
What is the other type of printer you were considering? You said it doesn't use GCode... but most printers work with converters, like Makerbot based machines, for example, using some open source tools to do the conversions. Or using a slicer like Simplify3D that has some proprietary hooks into it for specific machines.
Yep... It works great in that configuration.
