Hi there,
Having some challenges with getting this to work on this machine. Does anyone know how to install the PTFE tube into the extruder? This is a direct drive extruder and it has a spring-loaded arm that you have to pull back to open it up to get a straight path in to load the filament. Does this spring-loaded arm have to come off? It looks like a job to do that so wondering what my options are before I destroy it. Thank you.
Hi again. Ok I think I get what you mean about timing. Would u be able to tell me how to attach the PTFE tube to the extruder. Other than putting the tube directly in not sure what to do. Thank you again.
Thank you Bill. I have a totally stupid question. Still a new to this. What do you mean by timing?
Thanks again.
The 3DChameleon will work with the lever arm just as it is. You need to make sure that your timing is correct so that the extruder starts loading BEFORE the filament from the 3DChameleon reaches it... that way they are both working together to insert the filament into the extruder. As long as your timing is correct, you should have problem with it. (We have several Kobra Neo and Kobra Neo 2 machines here that have no issues at all with loading.) As a side note, there are no modifications ever needed to a printer to get the 3DChameleon to work except for older generation designs that use the old Titan extruder design, which will not even load manually without opening it up.
