this is because even for the EU and UK there are many hoops to jump through to sell there. In order to sell this item in the UK i would need to spend 1500 pounds yearly to a local rep. as you can see this is not feasible. While i would love to help the community i am not made of money to operate at such a loss hey. I am starting to understand why Bill stopped selling these kits. in order to even break even i would need to sell over 100 units to the UK. I don't think there is anywhere near that number of interested parties in the UK. HOWEVER if someone from the UK were to approach me ordering a bulk number of these up in the thousands, i would consider making this happen. Simple fact is i can not legally sell these things at a reasonably price. there are just too many laws and regulations in place which cause the price to be inflated unnecessarily.

I appreciate your understanding mate! i want to make sure if im doing this i do it right, i don't want to see anyone fall victim to anything should anything go wrong. It's not that i dont trust the device, it's more-so i know things can happen in the real world and i want to do my best to prevent that or have a plan in place in such a case they do happen. In better news, i think i may have found a way to supply to the US, however i am still going through the motions, and it may take a bit of time BUT it is looking promising. I don't want to get your hopes up too much incase things fall through but there is motion on my end.

i'm sorry to have needed to cancel your order. as you are in the UK, once i have my insurance sorted i will make a new revision of the device which is suitable for the UK. the standards there are a bit different to the ones here in AUS and the ones in the USA

many things are expensive when the go to North America / Canada which i am finding out myself. At this point in time i may not even be allowed to sell the product to you due to the insurance costs. I have already been told that IF an insurance company will cover me for your country, it may be well over $10,000. At that point it's hard to justify when selling something for the community, i already didn't have a profit margin, if insurance costs that much it would surely mean a loss for me. Insurance is something tricky to grasp because insurance companies are very secret about what they can and cant do and they leave things in fine writing where you think you are covered and then you aren't when something really bad happens. The last thing i want is someone to be homeless because i could not insure the item. Please bare with me as i continue negotiations with insurance companies

i appreciate your assistance here however eBay will not accept the liability for the product should it fail, or the compliance should something happen. I am still in negotiations with insurance companies. Once i have exhausted all avenues i will notify you all however i am still optimistic that i can sell these boards. At this point in time, i could sell them in Australia only by the end of the week should i decide to, however i don't think that anyone here is actually from Australia, so this would not help. (If you are from Australia and you want one of these please let me know, maybe we can arrange something) Regards to the EU, this board is not compliant with some of their standards as it currently stands, i will need to make a new revision in order to have it pass the EU / UK standards. For the USA, it is looking very difficult, unless a company is willing to insure it for a reasonable price, or even at all, i will not be able to sell to the USA. Lots of insurers are scared of the USA's legal system or have had bad experiences there. this is something that is completely out of my hands. if i cannot sell to the USA / North America due to insurance reasons, i will make the product available everywhere i can have it insured, the product is basically ready to go, i have a bunch of units sitting waiting for a home and i have the ability to order more which will be compliant in the EU and UK, The only thing holding me up here is insurance. I hope we can make this happen. the community deserves this item, Bill did a great job making something so useful and so far only the US has been able to enjoy it. You are missing the main point here. this was not for business purposes, this was to help the community, and help you. If i ship the item as is i am liable for everything, if you have a house fire and blame the item i shipped you then i am liable. if the item itself catches fire because you covered it and it overheated, I'm liable. I do not have the money to pay for your house if it burns down. This is why i was organising insurance for product liability, so that in case something like this happens to you, you will be compensated so you are not homeless. While it is very unlikely that the item will cause damage or harm, there is no way i will sell enough units to cover the cost of hospital bills or expenses to lost property should it occur from fire. Above all, if the product fails then a recall may need to be conducted on all units which again i will not have the money to be able to afford. I am still looking into options to have the product meet all regulatory requirements in order for it to be insured, and i am talking to companies to try and get insurance in the USA, however i don't know what will happen until they get back to me. This is my first time producing a product and i wanted to make sure that it was done right. What bill has said will certainly be fine for certifications, however there are some certifications for other parts of the world like RoHS in the EU/UK which need to be complied with and so on. I hope to be able to sell this item because it is a paperweight for me at the moment too, and i have spent a large amount of time to get it to this point, however things are not always as straight forward as they might seem. This process takes time, and I appreciate your patience as I navigate it. One major challenge I have encountered is the cost of product liability insurance, particularly for sales to the USA. Unfortunately, the insurance costs in the US are extremely high, making it unlikely that I will be able to offer this product for sale there. However, I am actively working towards achieving compliance in other regions where the costs are more manageable. If compliance is achieved and insurance coverage is available at a reasonable cost, I expect to be able to sell the product in most parts of the world, including Australia, the EU, and the UK.
