Just ordered an Elegoo Centauri Carbon. They are planning an AMS for it, but it will not come with it. I plan to get the Chameleon working with it, if I can, I see no reason, at this time, why not. It already has a filament cutter and a place for the "poop".
It might be July before it ships, I'll keep you posted then, unless someone else has already done it.
I haven't... been dealing with this forum transition.

I think it may be worth waiting for their AMS to be revealed, because it will most likely be budget friendly, be fully supported (and hopefully reliable), and will maybe have filament drying capabilities. Then again, if you like DIY projects, this is a fun thing to build, so you may choose this. If you do end up building one, you may want to look into using directly connected klipper macros using the USB port, happy hare, and a CNC Shield with klipper flashed.
There are a ton of custom MMU possibilities, like the 3MS, TradRack, and Pico MMU. I think for the price point and the MMU capabilities, the CC is a great machine for installing a custom MMU on. I am actually more interested in the regular Centauri (non-carbon) since it's only ~$240 (final price), and after building a chameleon for, could give you a cheap P1P combo (sort of). I do wonder if the BoxTurtle would work for it, since it would fit on top like an AMS, and it already has 4 filament holders/rewinders built in.
The installation should be just like the P1P or P1S. In fact, since it has a cutter, the only thing you'll need to do is adjust the positions of the poop chute and the cutter engagement.
I literally came home to an Elegoo Centauri Carbon today... I didn't order it, but it had a note attached that said, "Hi Bill... please accept this printer as a token of our appreciation for all you do in the community." That was very nice... but I still don't know who sent it... but you can bet I'll add a 3DChameleon to it. I'll post it when I get it up and running.
