Hotend not taking 1.8mm

I have a Phaetus Dragonfly BMG and I'm having trouble with the tip-shaping.

After allot of tuning I got good tips on my retracted filament, but the monent it tries to insert the tips again it just wont work.

I have measured the shaped tips and they are 1.8mm, so thats fine, but my hotend/heatbreak just wontt take the 1.8mm.

Even when manually trying to force it in, it just wont... When I cut the tips so the filament is 1.75mm, all seems fine.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there anything I can do or am I being forced to use the 3dClippy fo get my 3DC to work?

Is it an all metal hotend? Seems that the inner diameter is out of spec if it won't accept 1.8. The 3DClippy was designed just for this problem... it leaves the tip inside that hotend so it won't have the chance to expand outside of it. With that said, you can try to simply cool it down while keeping it in the hot end... don't remove it before hand and don't let it stop moving. Doing it that way will prevent it from swelling becuase it's cooled down to below the glass transition temperature while still constrined to the correct size. However, in my opinion, 3DClippy is a far better option, as it will always give you the proper filament size... and you only need to cut off 5-10mm of the tip.
