Respooling or buffering the retracted filaments?
I'm considering a chameleon setup for a voron build (and maybe even for my Bambu printer if it works well, instead of the AMS, not sure on this yet though) but one issue I see with all the multi-filament-changer systems (not including the bambu AMS which solves this problem) is that when you retract one filament from the hotend, you end up with that length of filament knotting up between the printer and the spool, because the spools obviously don't automatically re-wind themselves. (AMS solves this by winding the spool as it retracts).
I know with some of the chameleon setups, this is fairly minimal as they have it very close to the toolhead, so the retracted filament is only a few inches. But for the voron build it might be more like 12"-20", and it's about 10"-12" on the bambu too, which is enough to end up with some messy filament and potentially having it knot up if it goes off the spool.
I -believe- the enraged rabbit 'patch' can work as a buffer, which is one option, but I wondered how other people were already solving this issue.
For longer distances, I like to use Repkork's RepWinders... They're spring loaded spool holders that automatically take up the slack back into the spools using cheap parts from a tape measure.
