I just got my ordered 3dC. I ordered the V4 the first day the website was updated. However it looks like the V4 firmware hasn't been released yet based on some of the posts on the forum. Is there an easy way to find out what version firmware I have (if it shipped with the V4 or V3)? I'd rather wait to put it on my Creality K1 until I have the V4 for the easier setup. Also is there somewhere that has the previous instructions to update firmware (V1 to V2, V2 to V3) since the hardware is apparently the same I'd like to familiarize myself with them for if I do need to update the firmware(or for when I have to update it down the line.)

I believe the upgrade instructions post Bill is referring to is this one: https://www.3dchameleon.com/forum/getting-started/mk3-firmware-upgrade-instructions
I thought in one of the videos I watched Bill said the new Mk4 hardware includes a USB-C port specifically to allow for easier firmware updates (aka not requiring a USBTiny adapter anymore), but I can't find that specific video now. I've ordered my own 3dC but haven't received it yet, when it arrives hopefully I can give you more information.
The firmware update process is documented in the forum as well as on Chris' Basement's Firmware video. We will also provide a free update service for anyone who needs it... just ship it to us, we'll update it (and optionally add the new connectors for older boards without it) and ship it back. (For some reason, I can't search the forum for it on my phone right now, but just search for "Firmware Update")
As for being able to tell, you'll be able to tell by how it responds... there are several new modes of operation that are not present in the older firmware. It will be very obvious is you plug in the OLED display or the Auto 3DClippy... since the older versions do not have the capability to drive them.
