I tried mounting it there, with that same bracket and same location, but when the head goes back to wipe nozzle it slams into the bracket and the belts grind and slip, so i had to take unscrew it from that bolt and move it back towards the tensioner where the edge is basically flush with the motor. then the metal rod the head slides on actually trips the switch now instead of slamming into the switch mount. ill get pics this afternoon after work. The pics look the same, but i think the nozzle moves back further on the max than on the regular k1. Do you have a pic of your whole rail with nozzle all the way back?
So, there is a little pin that sticks out on the back of the K1's extruder... that is the only thing that engages the switch... and it only does it when the extruder is all the way over to the left. If your printer isn't pressing the switch with that pin, then we just need to adjust the position of the switch. Can you get a picture of the back of the extruder and a distance on how far to move the to switch left to avoid the homing of it?BIll
Well, it is, but I'd look for the slicer retracting it before the color change... my guess is it is. Check for some form of retract on color change setting, or look for their own color change code getting injected before our code. You don't need both of us doing it, that will surely cause issues.
ill see if i can find someone to help me look for that. i just have no clue where or what to look for. in way over my head. what is your return timeframe on this?
No I was not able to get it working on my K1 Max I decided to put it on my CR-X, wjsteele sent me some config files to try on CRX but I havent had time to apply them to get this to work.
Dang, ok. was just about to try to install on my max today. What issue were you having where it wouldnt work? I had tried to get it working on my qidi x max 3, but couldnt get it going on that either, so was hoping to get it going on the K1 Max. Dont want to give up, but if i cant get it going on the K1 Max, then im almost out of options. One more printer on the way to try it on, the new Kobra 2 Max. So that will be my last option before i go ahead and sell the thing or something.
just chiming in to see if you were able to get it going on the k1 max. im mainly curious as to how it acts with the locking and unlocking extruder on the k1 series printers.
Bill, any suggestions on where to mount the switch or possibly change printer settings so that it doesnt trip the switch when it goes all the way to the back to do a nozzle wipe?
Awesome. I been tempted/thinking about trying to design/print like a top sitting box to house my filament and some of the Chameleon like a bambu AMS to sit on the K1 Max i got or even work with the Ender 5
Sure... It's a universal design. Check out our Bambu P1P Mode 3 installation video on YouTube. Your K1 Max will be a nearly identical installation. It uses our universal switch mount.
Hi Bill, I see many time the P1P video but I stiil have a question. The K1 is missing the cabe cutter and need to unlock the cable to correctly unload it: how to you manage this two specific characteristic?
You don't need to unlock it, just use the extruder to back it out. It will eject it just fine as well as reload it. The locking lever is just for ease of use. And the cutter prevents the need for tip shaping, but we do tip shaping in the GCode already and you can always add the open source 3DClippy to cut it if you want.
this guy on facebook seems to have done it.

well, i thought it wasnt going to take long. got it hooked up, but does someone by chance have prusa profiles for the k1 max?
Keeps us posted, would love to get this on my K1max

Perfect just ordered. I will keep you posted.
