I'd recommend watching two videos on it.
This first one is how it works and how to change colors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Myr61uOCzVk
The second one is the new Gcode Generator we have (which now also supports Cura) that you can use to automatically generate the 8 tool change gcode snippets you'll need to set up Cura.
You can see it here:
No... you can use PrusaSlicer, Cura, Simplify3D or Kiri:Moto... all those browsers are supported by the GCode Generator. Other slicers will work too, but you'll need to configure them manually.
Each stl is printed in one color... if you want 4 colors, you'll need to divide the model into 4 STLs, one for each color.
Talk a look at the videos in our YouTube channel... I cover several different ways of doing that. You can even use the slicer to divide the model into sections, if the model is made up of many different parts.
In PrusaSlicer's latest beta version 2.4.3, you can even paint the surface of the model with each color you want. The other slicers do not support that, and you'll need to use the methods I show in the videos.
The channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCW_J8dXBNvbxqdgU5sptgYQ/videos
And here is a playlist of a couple videos showing some more details: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLs1jpNL7rg7_7RXVfS7viprvMdkvrjuW3
And here's a recent video I just did on the new PrusaSlicer feature:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuT3C_Ja_EU
It has profiles built in for Creality printers out of the box. They were the first ones it had built in... but PrusaSlicer isn't only for Prusa printers... it's just their slicer... just like Cura isn't only for Ultimaker printers, even though they wrote it.
All these slicers support pretty much any printer on the market.

I might add, our PrusaSlicer videos actually cover the Ender 3 series of printers specifically.
