Please reply with what worked for you? There are a lot of M5 owners looking for alternatives since the v6 cancellation. Someone has the steps and proof of it working with M5/M5c. I would like to see it! Thanks!
And here is a customers updates to it. Notice in the picture how they mount the switch on the right side of the X axis... that'll work just fine as well.
I installed it on both machines... but have since donated both to schools. However, there is nothing special about the installation, it's identical to the installation we used in our installation video. (They're just clones in pretty dress... but nothing special.) We used a surface mount switch and a trigger on the bottom of the build plate to engage it... and the 3DChameleon was mounted where the spool holder is. You can optionally use a 3DClippy on top to allow for cutting and "forward only" loading of the filament.
